Candice Hunter Corby

President & Chief Executive Officer

Candice Corby is the CEO of the Hidden Star Equity Fund. She is an experienced C-Suite Executive and youngest ever CFO of a publicly traded company unit at age 26.

She has been recognized for her career-long support of women and equality by being awarded the United Nations Global Business and Interfaith Peace medal for advocacy and the Woman of the Decade in Law and Leadership by the Women Economic Forum.

Most recently as CEO of Purpose Legal, Candice led the company through explosive growth and sale to private equity, delivering an exit at EV $27m in 2021 to private equity and an 18x MOIC.

Mike Dewey

Founder & Chairman

Mike Dewey is the founder of the Hidden Star Equity Fund. With partners, he oversees the Fund’s operations, deal flow, and investment process. Since 2016 he has been Founder and CEO of Hidden Star Resources, an 8-year-old non-profit 501(c)(3) assisting women and minority entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.

A three-time successful entrepreneur and former private equity investor, Mike also serves as the CEO of New Leaf Staffing, LLC; a fast growing, unique provider in the $180 billion staffing industry. Since 2019, New Leaf has seen average annual growth of 232% and currently employs more than 600 people.
