John Sibley Butler is the Emeritus J. Marion West Chair in Constructive Capitalism at The
University of Texas at Austin. As former Director of The IC2 Institute, The Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship and the Texas Venture Lab at The University of Texas, he has
been at the center of the Austin and Texas world of new venture and wealth creation.

Dr. Butler served as the founding investor and Board Member of Glofish, the first genetically enhanced pet. Currently, he sits on the boards of Nuclein, EcoLanbs, and Laundries.
Dr. Butler has provided management consulting services to numerous organizations and has taught innovation and entrepreneurship in Japan and China. He earned his undergraduate degree from LSU Baton Rouge and holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
